JOLLENBACH

 HOUSE HISTORY

1964 – House completed, original owner (Samuel Jollenbach) moves in. During the first year he vanishes without a trace. His remains are found in a barrel at Lake Travis 15 years later. Rumors say he was involved in mafia/drug trade.

 

1966 – The son’s of original owner (Jacob and William “Bill” Jollenbach) takes over house. It is said that they are also involved in illegal activities, everything from drugs to murder. In November 1973 local law enforcement was called to investigate a disturbance reported at the house. Upon entering, they found the remains of 3 men (both son’s) and 2 women, all of the victims had been decapitated. The heads were never found. Rumors say that over the 6 years more than 10 others may have died in the house (from drug overdose and murder) and buried in the woods behind house.

 

1973 – The house remained empty for the next 5 years.

 

1978 – Doug and Helen Stanley buys the house. They move in with they’re 2 daughters (Rita -10 and Cathy - 7 Stanley). After 5 months in the house Rita drowns in pool. Exactly 3 year later, friends of the couple find Doug and Helen dead on entry way floor. No signs of foul play or cause of death, as if they laid down together and just died. Cathy is missing, after searching property she is not found. 2 weeks later, her body is found face down in the pool.

 

1985 - A single elderly woman (Maggie Crawford) acquired the house. She fostered three young girls, Kelly (13), Lori (9), and Janet (7). In the master bedroom upstairs there is a wall of windows that overlook the woods from the back of the house. It was said the three girls threw themselves through the windows down to the pool area below. Their bodies were found lined 6 inches apart from each other. Maggie’s body was found dismembered into 3 parts, in 3 different locations around the property.

 

1991 – Kevin and Susana Bell take ownership of house. It is said the Kevin had been involved in a longtime affair with his secretary (Patricia Simmons). Susana returns home from a business trip to find Kevin and Patricia in bed together, dead. Rumors have it they were strangled by a cord which seemed to come through the mattress pinning them to the bed.  Susana continues to live in the house for 2 years and vanishes without a trace, leaving all of her belongings behind.

 

1999 – Richard and Brenda Tiller move into house with their 9 year old son Brandon. They hired a housekeeper (Maria Martinez) to come in once a week to help with the upkeep. The family returned home after spending 4 days in the Dallas area, attending the funeral of a close friend. As they continued to settle in, Richard and Brenda noticed Maria from the windows of their bedroom, she was near the pool. As they went downstairs to greet her, Brandon came running from his room crying, saying Maria was on the floor in his room and she would not wake up. They found Maria’s body on the floor – dead. The family moved out immediately and never returned. Later, the Coroner report listed drowning as the cause of death and also stated that she had been dead around 4 days.
